Raja Ampat sits at the centre of the Coral Triangle — the most biodiverse water on Earth. We're going with Papua Diving, the operator that opened these reefs to divers, for a small week built around one thing: diving. Seven nights over the water at Kri Eco, full board, and as much diving as you can do.
The crux
- Pioneer operator. Papua Diving (Max Ammer) opened Raja Ampat to divers — all-Papuan guides, deep local knowledge, conservation-led.
- Unlimited diving. Three guided boat dives a day, an optional dusk or night dive, and unlimited diving from the jetty whenever you like.
- Free Nitrox. EAN32 included for certified Nitrox divers — longer, safer bottom times across the week.
- A free exploration day. One full-day excursion each week — the Manta area, The Passage, Arborek and the Kabui Bay islets.
- Instructor-led, end to end. Twenty guests and two instructors travelling with the group the whole way — briefings, buddy pairing and in-water support throughout.
- The Expedition Academy. Included masterclasses between dives — dive computers, diving physiology, intro to technical diving and underwater photography — plus a complimentary intro-to-tec certification for qualified students.

Common questions
When is the Raja Ampat 2027 dive expedition?
Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 October 2027 — seven nights at Kri Eco Resort in the Dampier Strait, Raja Ampat, Indonesia.
How much does the trip cost and what's included?
From €2,200 per diver plus flights. That covers seven nights' full board at Kri Eco, unlimited diving (up to four dives a day plus unlimited jetty diving), free Nitrox (EAN32) for certified divers, one full-day exploration excursion, and the included Expedition Academy masterclasses with an intro-to-tec certification option.
What level of diver is the Raja Ampat trip for?
Open Water certified and up. The sites are reef and wall dives at recreational depths, though the Dampier Strait can run current, so comfort with drift diving helps. A range of experience levels is welcome, with masterclasses and an intro-to-tec option for those who want to push further.
When is the best time to dive Raja Ampat?
October sits in the prime season (roughly October to April): warm water around 29°C, good visibility, and active reefs. It also overlaps manta season at cleaning stations like Manta Sandy.
How do I get to Kri Eco Resort?
Fly to Sorong (SOG) in West Papua — usually via Jakarta or Makassar — then take the resort boat transfer across to Kri Eco in the Dampier Strait. Transfer details are arranged once your place is confirmed.
How do I book a place on the expedition?
Places are limited to 20 guests with 2 instructors and the trip is currently accepting applications. Apply through the expedition enquiry form and we'll confirm availability and deposit details.
