Delete Your Account

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This page is for anyone with a learning account on learn.donarundas.com or in the Deco Room app. They are the same account, and deleting it deletes it everywhere. You do not need the app installed to ask.

What Deletion Removes

  • Your account and your ability to sign in, on the website and in the app
  • Your name, email address and profile details
  • Your enrolment in every course, including any course you paid for
  • Your reading progress and your answers to the retrieval checks
  • Any pending request for access to a course
  • Every session and app token you hold, so no signed-in device keeps working

The account record itself is marked deleted and stripped of your name and email address, rather than being dropped outright. Moodle keeps an anonymised row because older system log entries refer to it by number; nothing that identifies you survives in it.

These are paid courses, and deletion ends the access you paid for. It is not a pause and it is not reversible. Signing in again afterwards with the same Google account creates a new, empty account — it does not restore an enrolment, a completed exam, or a mark. Deleting an account is not a cancellation and does not by itself trigger a refund; refunds are governed by the Terms of Service.

If what you want is a break rather than an ending, email and say so instead. An account can sit untouched for as long as you like at no cost, and your progress will be where you left it.

What Deletion Does Not Touch

Your exam records. The attempt, the mark and the answers you wrote are kept. The final exam is a credentialing assessment, and that record is the evidence behind a certification, which does not stop existing because a login was deleted — an agency query about a card issued two years ago has to be answerable. They are kept with no name and no email address against them: the account they belong to has been anonymised by then, so what remains is a mark against a deleted account rather than your exam paper with your name on it. If this is the part you object to, say so when you write and it can be discussed before anything is deleted.

A certification already issued. Certifications are issued by the training agency — PADI, TDI — and are held on their records, in your name, not ours. Deleting your account here has no effect on a certification you already hold.

Your diver record was never on our servers to begin with. Blood group, allergies, medical clearance, next of kin, insurance and your local emergency number live on the phone and were never sent to us, so there is nothing at our end to delete. Deleting from inside the app does clear them from that phone, as part of the same action. Deleting by email does not, because that reaches only the server — so if you still have the app installed, clear the fields under Me → Insurance & medical, or delete the app.

Payment records. If you paid a deposit or a course fee, the record of that payment — what was paid, when, and for which course — is kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep it. It is held against the transaction rather than against your login, and it is not used for anything else. We never held your card details in the first place; those go to Razorpay directly.

Ordinary email. If you have written to us, those emails stay in the mailbox unless you ask for them to be removed too. Say so in the same message and they will be.

How to Ask

In the app. Open Me and scroll to Delete account at the bottom. You will be asked to type a word to confirm, because there is no undo. Confirm it and the account is deleted straight away — the app signs you out, clears what it had saved on the phone, and returns you to the sign-in screen. Nobody has to approve it and there is no waiting period. If you do not see that button, you are on an older build of the app; use the email route below.

By email. Write to [email protected] with the subject Delete my account, from the email address you sign in with. Sending it from that address is how we know it is you; if you cannot, we will ask you something only the account holder would know before deleting anything. This route needs no app installed.

How Long It Takes

Deleting from inside the app is immediate. By the time the screen returns you to sign-in, the account, the enrolments and the exam attempts are already gone from the server.

By email, you will get a reply within 7 days confirming the request, and the deletion is completed within 30 days of that confirmation. Until it is done nothing changes: your account keeps working, your courses stay open, and your progress is still there. If you change your mind before it is done, reply to the same email thread and it stops.

Either way, once it is done it cannot be undone, by us or by anyone.

If You Want Less Than a Deletion

Two things you can do in the app yourself, neither of which touches the account on the server:

  • Clear the downloads (Me → Storage → Clear) empties the downloaded chapters and documents from the phone. They download again next time you open them.
  • Sign out removes the session token and your account details from the device, and deletes the saved library documents with them. Your diver record survives a sign-out on purpose, so the emergency card still opens.
